Edward W. Goodson, Attorney at Law

      Mr. Goodson grew up in Fair Oaks (Sacramento County), California and Deerfield, Massachusetts. He attended the University of California, Berkeley where he received dual undergraduate degrees in Development Studies (the study of societal transformation) and Spanish in 1988. Mr. Goodson received his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1995 and was admitted to the State Bar of California the same year. He is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, as designated by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
Mr. Goodson has dedicated himself exclusively to estate, trust, and probate-related cases since July, 2001. He has drafted over 100 living trust estate plans and is one of the very few Bay Area estate planning attorneys who welcomes home and hospital calls. He has represented fiduciaries in trust and estate administration matters of many types, including those with complex estate tax issues and intra-familial litigation. Mr. Goodson has been appointed by the Contra Costa Probate Court to represent minors in guardianship cases and proposed conservatees in conservatorship cases.  He has successfully represented clients in probate court in varying matters in Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Solano counties. Mr. Goodson has also assisted numerous trustees in the administration of trusts with assets valued up to $40,000,000.

       Many families find themselves in legal quandaries after the death of a loved one. This can be a result of poor estate planning, unexpected circumstances, bad luck, or a combination of the three. Mr Goodson delights in helping these families leap through the fiery hoops of the legal system as painlessly as possible.


Amanda L. Sinclair, Attorney at Law

     Ms. Sinclair was born in Augsburg, Germany and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1993. Ms. Sincliar received her juris doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law with a Tax Concentration in 1997. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 1997. Ms. Sinclair is also a licensed California real estate broker.

       Ms. Sinclair's practice focuses primarily on probate matters, including administrations and other matters before the probate court, conservatorship matters, trust administration, and trust & estate planning. Special need planning and administration, as well as court accountings are of particular interest to Ms. Sinclair.  

      Ms. Sinclair finds deep, professional satisfaction assisting and advising clients during times of personal difficulty and stress. Ms. Sinclair is happy to interface with other service providers, such as, accountants, realtors, and financial advisors, to provide seamless client service. Ms. Sinclair's clients include individuals, trustees, conservators, personal representatives, and non-profit agencies

      Ms. Sinclair joined Trust & Probate Law Group in April 2007. Prior to joining TPLG, Ms. Sinclair practiced in the areas of global stock planning, international corporate structuring, business entity formation, venture financing and corporate governance, including human resource, real property and tax matters. 

     Ms. Sinclair's personal interests include volunteering for organizations assisting families with children with special needs and local libraries, running, and hiking.  Of particular interest to Ms. Sinclair is helping families with children living with autism and developmental disabilities in order to maximize their potential, independence, security and happiness. In May 2013, Ms. Sinclair joined the Family Advisory Council at Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland as a council member.
